Two people have died after their car hit a tree along the Newell Highway in New South Wales’s New England region.
Police said emergency services were called to the crash in Moree, about three hours from Tamworth, at 7am Sunday.
They said witnesses performed CPR before NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived, however, the female driver and the male passenger both died at the scene.
Both are yet to be formally identified but are believed to be in their 30s.

Police are investigating the single-vehicle crash.
