“Noticed yesterday in store these were marked down to $6.90. Then today $4.90 so went back and grabbed another box,” a person wrote in a post on Markdown Addicts Australia Facebook page.
“Handy for this time of year. The tag said clearance so they could be deleting the line.”
People shared their love for the frozen favourite in the comment section.
“They are delish! But the spicy chicken balls are so so spicy!” one person wrote.
“Mine are exp(iring) next month but will be gone before anyway lol,” said another.
“Bought 4 boxes at $6 each,” wrote a third.
Some shared the concern that Woolworths were discontinuing the product, which is why they reduced the price so heavily.
“Pretty sure it could be clearance due to short date,” one said.
They ‘aren’t going anywhere’
However, a Woolworths spokesperson confirmed the Chicken and Cheese Party Pack is here to stay.
“We’d like to assure shoppers that our popular Chicken and Cheese Party Packs aren’t going anywhere and are currently available at half price in stores and online,” the spokesperson said.
“We know Christmas can be an expensive time of year and shoppers are looking for the best value every time they shop with us.
“This year, we have a wide range of Christmas products and entertaining staples like the Chicken and Cheese Party Pack at great prices, so customers can create a special Christmas spread without compromising on quality or taste.
“We also have a range of seasonal favourites that will cost the same price or less than last Christmas, including our Woolworths half leg ham, WA rock lobster, cooked Australian tiger prawns, pavlova bases, our Woolworths brie cheese and mixed nuts.”
