The attacks allegedly happened on suburban streets.
Wildlife carers staged a protest outside the Mandurah Courthouse Wednesday morning, bringing with them a little joey.
Bennell covered his face and chose not to speak after his appearance.
He is yet to enter a plea and is due back in court next month.
The accused, from Greenfields, was charged in April following a joint investigation involving Mandurah Police, the RSPCA and the City of Mandurah.
