A driver in a getaway car then rammed into the house, before the group jumped in and drove off.

The wounded man was rushed to Logan Hospital in a stable condition.

Police believe the getaway car was a Ford Ranger that had been stolen in Algester on Wednesday.

Separate incident

Officers spotted a man on a patio of a home and gave chase when he ran off.

As a Senior Constable was about to catch him, the man allegedly swung a machete and hit the officer’s hand — cutting him on the finger.
