A man has been shot by police in Mackay after reports of him making threats led to an emergency lockdown.
Police declared an emergency after being called to the Bridge Street home, near Mackay Base Hospital, on Monday afternoon.
Bridge Street, Hume Street and Streeter Avenue were locked down as officers negotiated with the man, with people urged to avoid the area.

After two hours into the siege, the man was shot by police.
His condition was not immediately known.
It’s not known what led up to the shooting.
Police are yet to issue a response to the incident.
