Man dies in huge fire at home in Melbourne’s west

One man is dead and another is in a serious condition after a fire tore through a house in Melbourne’s west.

Emergency services were called to Winjeel Ct in Braybrook just before 9am on Friday after the huge blaze broke out.

Two people were inside the house at the time and were both pulled out by firefighters.

They were treated at the scene by paramedics and a 76-year-old man from Braybrook was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Another man, aged 42 and also from Braybrook, could not be saved and died at the scene.

The exact circumstances surrounding the fire are yet to be determined and the Arson Squad will investigate.

The home where the fire broke out has been left completely gutted with the ceiling gone and the structure of the home burned.
