But the third season of The Kardashians, which is airing now, takes viewers through the worrying events step-by-step.

In a to-camera interview, Khloe explained she had a biopsy done for a “tiny little dot” that had been on her face for “seven or eight months” and which she initially assumed was just “a zit”.

“Turns out it’s not a zit. It’s melanoma,” she said.

“For my age, it’s incredibly rare. It’s so rare that they have to go in more to see if it’s spread.

“At this point, it does feel a little scary.”

In the first episode, Khloe talked to Kylie Jenner about the surgery she needed.

“They said they won’t know until they open up my cheek, how big they have to cut,” she explained.

“But in my face, it’s going to be annoying.

“I just don’t want a big scar on my face.”

In another episode, Khloe is shown recovering from the surgery, with large stitches on her face.

“They had to sort of, open up my cheek,” she said.

“I woke up and I had this huge bandage on my face and I couldn’t move my mouth.

“I had stitches on the inside of my mouth.

“This was way more serious than I either understood or anticipated it to be.”

She then had to wait to find out whether the melanoma was cancerous or if she needed a second round of surgery.

“I’m definitely anxious about everything and now you just have to wait,” Khloe said in a to-camera interview.

“When you’re waiting on results, that’s when your mind can go to different places.

“You start thinking, ‘What if I do have cancer? What if the cancer spread?’

“You start thinking these crazy things. I just had a baby.

You just spiral into darkness.”

However, the news after the surgery was performed was positive, with the entire tumour successfully removed.

Later, speaking to her mum Kris Jenner, she said the cancer “could have spread at any minute”.

“That’s why they rushed me to do it,” she said.

“But yeah, the relief of knowing that everything’s gone, that it’s out of my system … It’s good.”

Pointing to her face bandage, she said, “This? Never thought for a second it was a tumour on my face.”

“I’m so relieved and so happy,” she said in a separate interview.

“All I have is a scar that I will figure out later.

“You know, so many people aren’t as lucky, and I feel really fortunate and really blessed.”
