Jordan De Goey is all but certain to miss Collingwood’s traditional King’s Birthday clash with Melbourne next week after flattening West Coast youngster Elijah Hewett with a high bump.
De Goey cleaned the 19-year-old up with a late, high bump after he had already disposed of the ball.

Hewett was left dazed on the ground as trainers rushed to his side to assess him.
“That’s a big one right there,” former Melbourne captain Garry Lyon said on commentary.
“If you elect to bump and you make high contact, that’s going to come under the MRO’s attention. That’s trouble for Jordan De Goey.
“We’re not saying he tried to knock him senseless, but if you decide to bump and make contact above the shoulders, then the AFL has been as clear as they could possibly be with that.”
Adam Papalia added: “That will be a big story over the next couple of days.”
A fan on Twitter called it “a really bad one from De Goey. No place for that in the game anymore.”
Hewett was assessed for concussion symptoms on the bench and later ruled out of the game with concussion.
De Goey will be sent straight to the tribunal to learn his fate for the hit if it is graded as ‘intentional’ conduct, ‘high’ contact and ‘severe’ impact, which is likely.
That will mean he will attract a suspension of at least three weeks. Collingwood have games against Melbourne, Adelaide and Gold Coast in that time.
De Goey was being continually booed by the local crowd every time he went near the ball in the aftermath of the hit.
