Jenna Dewan recently shared a video on Instagram showing her struggles with pregnancy while getting into costume for her role on the ABC series The Rookie. In the clip, she can be seen struggling to button her pants and displaying her baby bump. Dewan jokingly called the process of putting on the layers of her character’s LAFD uniform a “workout,” and asked if other firefighters and EMTs experienced the same exhaustion. Dewan announced in January that she is expecting her third child, her second with fiancé Steve Kazee.

Dewan and Kazee, who began dating in 2018, welcomed their son Callum in March 2020. Dewan also has a 10-year-old daughter, Everly, with her ex-husband Channing Tatum. While pregnancy is not new to Dewan, she mentioned to Romper in January that she is prepared for a different postpartum experience in her 40s. She acknowledged that her body may not bounce back as quickly as it did in the past, but she remains open to whatever happens. Despite this, Dewan’s dancer mentality pushes her to get things done and she has recovered well after previous pregnancies.

In a recent interview, Dewan expressed her excitement about Kazee’s parenting skills, describing him as naturally domestic, nurturing, and loving. She looks forward to seeing him with their new baby. The couple announced their engagement in February 2020 but have not rushed to tie the knot, citing a busy schedule as the reason for the delay. Dewan mentioned that they at least have the location set for the wedding, but life and work have kept them occupied. She also spoke about working while pregnant, describing it as exhausting but enjoyable, and credited the positive environment on The Rookie set for making it easier for her.

Despite her busy schedule, Dewan is balancing work and pregnancy with the support of Kazee. She expressed her love for her job on The Rookie, praising the cast and crew for creating a fun and enjoyable atmosphere. Dewan reflected on her experiences on other sets that were more stressful, making her appreciate the ease of working on The Rookie even more. She acknowledged that being a mother means always feeling tired but finds the work fulfilling. Dewan’s positive attitude and dedication to her career, coupled with the support of her fiancé, are helping her navigate through the challenges of pregnancy and work simultaneously.
