Throughout the summer of 2024, Universal Music will be releasing 10 of Jimmy Buffett’s albums on vinyl, giving his devoted fans a chance to enjoy his music in a new format. Some albums will be re-pressed on vinyl while others will be offered on wax for the first time. Each month, at least three albums will be released, with traditional black vinyl and collectible colored pressings available for each title.

The series kicks off on June 7 with the release of Living and Dying in 3/4 Time, One Particular Harbour, and Fruitcakes. These albums, released in different decades, showcase Buffett’s growth as an artist and his increasing commercial success over the years. On July 12, A White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean, Havana Daydreamin’, and Banana Wind will be released on vinyl.

In August, four albums will be released, including Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Altitudes, Son of a Son of a Sailor, Volcano, and Barometer Soup. Each month will also feature one album that has never been released on vinyl before, such as Fruitcakes, Barometer Soup, and Banana Wind. These ’90s albums are sure to be popular among fans who have been waiting to add them to their collection.

The release of these albums on vinyl comes in the wake of Jimmy Buffett’s passing last September after a private battle with cancer. Despite his death, his loyal following, known as Parrotheads, has continued to show their love for his music through buying and streaming his songs. The summer of 2024 promises to be a busy season for Parrotheads as they have plenty of new offerings from the late legend to enjoy.

Universal Music’s decision to release Buffett’s albums on vinyl highlights the lasting impact of his music and the continued popularity of his work among fans. The availability of these albums in a new format allows fans to experience his music in a different way and adds to the ongoing legacy of Jimmy Buffett as a renowned singer-songwriter. The summer of 2024 will be filled with new opportunities for fans to celebrate and remember the music of the beloved artist.
