‘Destroy it’: Baby toy recalled over fears it could cause death

A wooden baby rattle is being recalled over fears it could cause severe injury or death.

According to a recall notice from Product Safety Australia, the BABYBOHO wooden rattle with silicone beads does not comply with the size requirements of the mandatory safety standard for toys for children up to and including 36 months of age.

“The rattle may pose a choking or suffocation hazard for young children, which can lead to severe injury or death,” the recall notice states.

“Consumers should immediately stop using the rattle. Consumers should destroy the product.”

Anybody who bought the rattle is urged to contact BABYBOHO at [email protected] for a full refund.

“Consumers need to provide a photograph to show the product has been destroyed and provide their order number or proof of purchase,” Product Safety Australia says.

The product was available to buy on the BABYBOHOStore on Etsy and was sold across Australia between November 1 2022 and March 10 2023.
