The royal family marked Easter by attending their annual church service at St Georges Chapel in Windsor, with Princess Kate Middleton and Prince William notably absent due to Kate’s cancer battle. King Charles III, Queen Camilla, and other members of the royal family were present, waving to supportive crowds gathered outside the chapel. The monarch sat in the “Sovereign’s Seat” during the ceremony, with the family taking their usual places in the stalls. After the service, the royals conducted a walkabout in the castle grounds to thank members of the congregation and wellwishers.

Kate Middleton, who recently underwent abdominal surgery and was diagnosed with cancer, chose to step back from public appearances to focus on her treatment. In a video message, she revealed that the news came as a shock to her and Prince William, and they are doing their best to process and manage the situation privately. Kensington Palace stated that Kate will return to official duties once cleared by her medical team, while William continues to balance supporting his wife and maintaining his official duties.

Prince Charles also confirmed his own cancer diagnosis in February and has been undergoing regular treatments, leading him to postpone public-facing duties. His absence has been filled by Camilla, who has stepped in for many of his engagements. Charles and Kate have been supporting each other throughout their health battles, with the king visiting Kate in the hospital and offering encouragement after she revealed her diagnosis. The royal family continues to offer love and support to each other during this difficult time.

Before the royal family’s arrival at the Easter service, the Archbishop of Canterbury encouraged the public to pray for King Charles and Princess Kate. The king and Queen Camilla arrived in a maroon state Bentley limousine for the ceremony, with Camilla wearing an elegant green coat dress. The royal couple delighted crowds by shaking hands and speaking to wellwishers as they left the service. Buckingham Palace spokespersons shared that the monarchs conducted a walkabout to thank those who had shown their support.

Kate expressed in her video message that she is getting stronger every day by focusing on her healing in mind, body, and spirit and with the comfort of William by her side. She appreciated the love, support, and kindness shown by many during this challenging time. The couple requested privacy and understanding from the public as they prioritize Kate’s treatment and focus on making a full recovery. The royal family continues to navigate their duties while supporting each other and facing their health battles with courage.
