Non-surgical rhinoplasty.. what is it and how is it done?

41

You may have heard of Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty, referred to by its nicknames: “liquid nose job” or “15-minute nose job.” Non-surgical rhinoplasty is actually a dermal filler procedure that consists of injecting a component of the filler, such as hyaluronic acid, under the skin to temporarily change the structure of your nose for up to 6 months. What is it and how is it done?

Non-surgical rhinoplasty

This procedure is ideal for people who are looking to remove the bumps in their nose, or make it look less prominent, but are not ready for a permanent solution, or are concerned about the risks and recovery time involved in a traditional rhinoplasty.
Certainly, having a needle inserted is less complicated than undergoing a nose job, but reshaping the nose is not without some minor risks. Here you can see all the details:

How it works?
Non-surgical rhinoplasty uses dermal filler components to change the shape of your nose.
An injectable gel-like component (usually hyaluronic acid) is inserted under the skin in the areas where you wish to create smoother lines or volume. Sometimes Botox from a trusted source is used, depending on the type of problem.
The filler component settles as it is injected into the deeper layers of the skin and maintains its shape. This can change the appearance of your nose from 4 months to 3 years, depending on your skin, desired results, and the ingredient used.

What is the procedure?
Liquid rhinoplasty is fairly simple, especially compared to surgical rhinoplasty.
After the consultation in which you discuss your desired results, your doctor will ask you to lie down with your face tilted up. A local anesthetic may be placed on your nose and the area around it, so you don’t feel the pain of the needle. After the anesthetic takes effect, your doctor will inject filler into the area around your nose, possibly into the bridge of your nose itself. You may feel pressure, or slight pressure, while doing this. The entire process can take anywhere from 15 minutes or less to 45 minutes.

Target areas
Non-surgical rhinoplasty targets the bridge, tip and sides of your nose. Fillers can be injected around any part of your nose to adjust its shape.
This procedure works well if you want to:
Hide the bumps in your nose
Make the tip of your nose more prominent
– Add volume to your nose
Raise the tip of your nose
Blurring any slight, prominent bumps on the bridge of the nose, smoothing its contour.
Note: Liquid rhinoplasty will not be able to give you the desired results if you want your nose to look smaller, or if you are looking to change its shape.

Risks and side effects
The only side effect of liquid rhinoplasty is a slight redness and sensitivity in the injection area, in the day or two after the procedure. Other possible side effects may include bruising at the injection site and swelling. Because the nose is a sensitive area filled with blood vessels, and close to your eyes. This is why liquid rhinoplasty is somewhat more complicated than other types of filler procedures.

What to expect after treatment
After liquid rhinoplasty, you may notice and feel pain, swelling and redness at the injection site. Within an hour or two, the filling will take its place and settle. And you will be able to see the desired results better. Full results should be seen within a week or two. The redness or bruising will also subside completely by that time. In terms of downtime, you can return to work and your normal activities on the same day. Most of the filler ingredients dissolve into your skin layer within 6 months. Some filler components last for up to 3 years. No matter what, the results of a liquid rhinoplasty are not permanent.

Preparing for treatment
Avoid aspirin, anti-inflammatory medications, vitamin E supplements, and any other blood-thinning supplements in the week before the procedure. If you are taking any anticoagulant medication, make sure your doctor knows about it.
To reduce the risk of bruising, eat plenty of green leafy vegetables for a vitamin K boost in the weeks leading up to your operation.
Drink plenty of water and eat a meal before your appointment. Don’t overeat, as you may feel nauseous during or after your appointment, but make sure you eat something that contains starch and protein.

Advantages of this non-surgical procedure
Not to undergo surgery and general anesthesia.
– Heal faster.
The results are not permanent, so if you are not satisfied with the shape of your nose, it is only a matter of time.
