In the latest episode of “American Idol,” viewers voted for the Top 10 singers out of the remaining 20 contestants, with the other 10 singers placed in the “danger zone” to sing for their lives. Judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie determined the final four contestants who would make it into the Top 14. One of the most controversial moments of the night was Ajii’s placement in the bottom half of the contestants, which resulted in a loud reaction from the audience. Perry also experienced a wardrobe malfunction during the episode’s dramatic conclusion.

Ajii, known for his impressive vocal talents, had to sing for his life after not receiving enough votes to automatically make it into the Top 14. Despite a solid performance, it wasn’t enough to secure him a spot, leading to a strong reaction from the audience. Another contestant, Roman Collins, impressed the judges with his rendition of James Brown’s “It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World,” but also inadvertently caused Perry’s top to break.

After the judges chose the final four contestants to join the Top 10 based on America’s vote, six contestants were eliminated from the competition. These included Quintavious, Kennedy Reid, Jennifer Jeffries, Ajii, Odell Bunton Jr., and Mackenzie Sol. Notably, Odell Bunton Jr. became the first platinum ticket winner of the season to not advance in the competition.

The Top 14 contestants moving forward on “American Idol” Season 22 include Mckenna Breinholt, Jack Blocker, Mia Matthews, Sam “Kayko” Kelly-Cohen, Will Moseley, Abi Carter, Kaibrienne “KB” Richins, Emmy Russell, Julia Gagnon, Triston Harper, Jayna Elise, Nya, Jordan Anthony, and Roman Collins. Viewers can cast their votes for their favorite contestant through various platforms, including the “American Idol” website, app, or via text message to a designated number. Voting will be open until 9 a.m. ET on Tuesday.
