Billie Eilish, at 22 years old, has officially announced her third album, ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft,’ which is set to be released on May 17. The album is highly anticipated as a follow-up to her 2021 release ‘Happier Than Ever.’ Eilish and her brother Finneas, who is her creative collaborator, are particularly proud of this album and can’t wait for fans to hear it. The artist expressed a mix of nervousness and excitement about the project while unveiling the album artwork on Instagram.

Eilish explained that she wanted listeners to hear the album in its entirety instead of releasing multiple singles. This decision to release the album as a complete piece is similar to Ariana Grande’s approach with her album ‘Eternal Sunshine.’ Eilish revealed that ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’ will offer a different sound compared to her previous work, describing it as feeling new and embodying change. The press release for the album describes it as her most daring work yet, with songs that are diverse yet cohesive.

The album will feature 10 new songs, including tracks like “Skinny,” “Lunch,” “Chihero,” and “Birds of a Feather.” One distinctive aspect of the album is its eco-friendly approach, with an emphasis on reducing waste and environmental impact. The vinyl pressing of ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’ will offer an Eco-Mix version, made from recycled materials and aimed at promoting sustainability. Eilish has spoken out against the practice of artists creating multiple vinyl packages to boost sales, calling it wasteful and prioritizing the impact on fans and the environment.

In a surprising move, Eilish added all 110 million of her Instagram followers to her “Close Friends” list, typically reserved for inner-circle confidants. This unconventional action gained Eilish more followers but was short-lived, as she removed them from the list shortly after. The artist shared her perspective on fame, emphasizing the responsibility and privilege it brings. Eilish believes in using her platform for good and reaching a larger audience to make a positive impact on the world. Her approach to fame reflects her desire to use her influence in a meaningful way.
